Complete dietetic feed for adult dogs.

For dogs with urinary sensitivities, a specially tailored diet containing precisely balanced nutrients can help to support good urinary health. Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O is specifically formulated with the nutritional needs of dogs with urinary sensitivities in mind. This food is available in 2kg, 7.5kg and 13kg bags. Struvite is a normal component of your dog's urine that can form crystals or stones if the urine is too concentrated. Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O helps to dissolve all types of struvite stones that may form in your dog's bladder. What's more, Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O's exclusive complex helps to dilute your dog's urine, making it less likely for calcium oxalate stones and struvite stones to form in the first place. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is utilised for the development of Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O. RSS helps to lower the concentration of ion in your dog's urine, minimising the likelihood of bladder stones forming. As magnesium is also a natural component of struvite crystals, Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O is formulated with a reduced level of magnesium. If your dog is overweight or prone to weight gain, consider offering them Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie that contains all of the benefits of their counterpart, just with fewer calories. As part of the Royal Canin® Veterinary Health Nutrition range, it is important that this product is only given to your pet when recommended by a veterinary professional. To cater to each dog's individual preferences, Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O is also available as wet food in either a delicious gravy or a soft and tasty loaf. If you're considering mixed feeding, simply follow our feeding guidelines to ensure your dog gets an accurate amount of both wet and dry food for optimal benefit. At Royal Canin® we're committed to providing nutritional solutions to your pet's needs. All of our products undergo an extensive quality control process in order to guarantee the optimum quality of food, as well as catering to your dog's specific dietary requirements and lifestyle. This means that when your dog eats Royal Canin® Canine Urinary S/O, it's getting a complete and balanced diet.

Struvite Dissolution: Helps dissolve all types of struvite stones.

Urine Dilution: Urine dilution makes the urine less liable to form struvite and calcium oxalate stones.

Low RSS: Helps lower the concentration of ions contributing to struvite and calcium oxalate crystal formation.

Low Magnesium: Reduced level of magnesium, a natural component of struvite crystals.

Excellent food

Was recommended this food for my five year old rescued shih-tzu who was in a bad way having had gallstones and was painfully thin. This, combined with the dry s/o food, has turned her into a happy cheeky little dog who is now the perfect weight with a shining coat and eyes. Vet now very pleased with her condition.

Medically great but otherwise a poor quality diet

My dog has urine that is too alkaline & produces struvite crystals causing blood. This food does exactly what it says, neutralises the ph and dissolves the crystals. In that sense I would recommend it. Sadly I do not rate the main food content of royal canin at all. It contains wheat, grains and various ‘derivatives’, and consequently has to be fortified with extra vitamins, oils and minerals to provide nutritional benefit. I wish the active ingredient in this food was available in other far superior foods. I think it is necessary for my dog in order to manage her problem but I will only feed her a small amount mixed in with her proper quality diet (Guru) . In this day & age with all the development that has gone into pet diets it’s is a great shame this medical product is not widely available across better quality brands. I guess there will be a contract or licensing agreement that prohibits this? Anyhow, if your dog has alkaline issues & struvite crystals it will definitely do the job, so it still merits a 3 star in my opinion.

Excellent food

I bought this for my dog as the vet said she had a struvite bladder stone and wasnt keen on just the dry kibble she was on. She loves this food and it seems to be helping dissolve the stone. Happy purchase

Great for preventing urinary issues

My dog wasn't keen on trying new foods, it took a few times of trying but he now loves this food. No more vet visits, no more crystals in his urine and I have a healthy dog again!

Great specialist dog food

Don't know why royal canin had to change the original recipe but my dog seems to enjoy the New one. Smells a bit strong though.

Great value

Our pet has to have dietary food and before we got her food from you we had trouble getting her to eat, but not any more, she loves eating now.

Pup wolfed it down

I bought this at the time because my vet thought my dog had struvate stones, turns out they were urate. However the time he was on this he ate it no problem. The food has a mousse consistency so easy to measure out the required amount. It's expensive but compared to going through bladder surgery and painful blockages it is definitely the better choice.

She eats it

This is the first food recommended by a vet that my dog actually eats and enjoys. My other dog who doesn't need it prefers it to her own dinner and now they fight to get at it. I am well happy.

I buy this under my vets recommendation for my shih tzu Beds who suffers with stones. After her second operation our vet recommended we feed her Royal Canin Canine S/O. She loves it and always cleans her bowl. As a treat we give her the Royal Canin Canine S/O dried food. No more stones and a very happy healthy dog

Prevention food

After my dog had several stones in bladder vet said to feed her this and we did as didn’t want anymore operations. Find the odd small stone around keeps bladder free from grit etc.. Use daily to stop the need for another op. These tins are better than the dry biscuits because they don’t dry her out and cause constipation if she doesn’t want to drink much..

NO DIFFERENCE!

The vet recommended that my GSD go onto this prescription diet because of a urinary tract infection and possible bladder stones. Sadly Lola doesn’t eat it with relish like her previous premium biscuit and after a couple of weeks we haven’t noticed any improvement at all...still hoping though!
