Petwell, the premier supplier of pet medicine, food and supplements online, are pleased to donate to the Birmingham Dogs Home and Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs, both charities that are entirely reliant on sponsorship and donations to exist and carry out their work.
Petwell, which launched as VetePet in 2010, completely revamped their image in 2016. Their new website features over 5,000 products and a dedicated pet advice section, including a blog written by a highly qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
Jon Chapman, Berkshire Search & Rescue Dogs Press Officer said: “It’s great that national businesses like Petwell recognise the work put in by our volunteers and are able to support us. There are only 34 qualified Lowland Rescue search dogs covering the entire UK, so as you can imagine we are out in all weathers and terrains.
Petwell’s donation will assist us in protecting the dogs against external parasites that might carry serious diseases and will help to ensure we have a full team available to assist the emergency services in locating lost or missing vulnerable people.”
In addition, Areika Bickerton, Acting Chief Executive of Birmingham Dogs Home, said:
“We would like to thank the team at Petwell for thinking of all the stray dogs in our care. Their donation will benefit the dogs directly by helping to keep them parasite free throughout their stay with us at both centres. It also enables our dedicated Canine Carers to carry out the vital work of nurturing, socialising and caring for each individual dog that needs their help.”
Ollie Robilliard, Petwell’s MD said: “We are happy to support these charities, even in a small way.  We hope that supplying them  with the medication to help protect against external parasites that might carry serious diseases will go a little way to making sure they are able to continue their amazing work without fear of infestation.“
