Being a pet owner can be incredibly rewarding but there is no getting away from the fact that you have to clean up their waste. In fact, just the 9 million dogs kept in the UK produce around 1000 tonnes of waste EVERY day!
While it might not be pleasant, it is vital that you do dispose of it; firstly, because it is law that owners do so (see our dedicated page on tips for travelling with your pet for more information) but also, if left, it can be a carrier of a wide variety of diseases and be an environmental pollutant as well!
Waste Disposal Products
When walking your dog take poo bags with you and, if possible put the bag in a designated bin.

REMEMBER! If there is no bin to dispose of the bags when you are walking your dog you should respect others and take it home with you, rather than leave it for someone else to find.
Speak with your local council to discover where they would prefer you to dispose of your bags. Some will suggest that you double bag it and dispose of it in your household waste.
So, just in case there is no bin, why not carry a larger plastic bag with you and make your journey home slightly more pleasant!
Picking up after your pet at home is just as important as when you are out in public.
While you can use any of the above products to clean up after your pet at home, you could use an alternative method such as a dog loo.
